All Residents of the Lakes DHB area whom may be at risk of or struggling with addiction and co-existing disorders, including family/ Whānau members, employers and or concerned members of the community can utilise arc’s Counselling Services.

Drug & Alcohol Addiction/Gambling/NZTA Assessments

Criteria for assessment and treatment will be based on the person having an existing risk of co-existing disorders and/or addiction problem or as a significant other.

Referrals to this service may come from any source, including self.

Referral to this service can be made by contacting the service in person, by phone, through professional referral e.g. through General Practitioners or concerned others with the Service Users permission. All referrals will be responded to and allocated based on urgency and priority of need in consultation with the identified Tangata Whaiora/ Client. If other intervention required, referral on to more appropriate service will be supported by staff.

1. Brief Intervention, information, education and resources related to addiction. In partnership with Community Mental Health and G.P. Practices arc is delivering clinic responses to AOD and co-existing disorders.
2. Assessment and Development of Recovery Plans and treatment for Alcohol, Drug, Gambling Problems.
3. Support to family/Whānau members struggling with someone else’s addiction.
4. Group Support 5. Referral to more intensive residential treatment facilities, respite and needs Assessments.
5. New Zealand Transport Authority Assessments – indefinite disqualification
